EXPO 2027 Caravan visits Bor to promote regional tourism and culture

The EXPO 2027 Caravan, specifically the Pavilion of Play, was held in Bor at the plateau in front of the House of Culture. Tomislav Sarić, Director of the Planning and Development Sector for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, emphasized that the event represents all of Serbia, not just Belgrade, and serves as a significant opportunity for the economy, tourism, and industry of Bor.

Sarić noted that the organization has received over 11,000 volunteer applications from more than 100 countries. He encouraged local youth to participate as volunteers to represent their city and engage with international visitors. Bor Mayor Radiša Petković stated that the Expo is an ideal platform for Serbia to present its identity and capabilities to the world, highlighting the city's unique tourism offerings.

The program featured a diverse array of cultural, musical, and sporting activities. Local artists, folklore ensembles such as KUD ‘Zlot’ and KUD ‘Bor’, and students from the ‘Miodrag Vasiljević’ Music School performed traditional Vlach dances and Balkan folk music. The event also showcased local sports clubs in disciplines including handball, basketball, volleyball, judo, karate, and rugby, aligning with the Expo theme, ‘Play(s) for Humanity: Sport and Music for All’.
