Belgrade Expo 2027 gains international partners and major contracts

Serbia is preparing the specialized Expo 2027, scheduled for 15 May‑15 August 2027 in Belgrade, with a theme of "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All". More than 7,000 Serbian volunteers have applied for 48 “Playmakers” positions, seeing the event as a career‑building opportunity.

Slovenia confirmed participation after a government meeting, planning to spend €3.3 million on a pavilion, exhibits and staffing. Officials highlighted the expo as a platform for Slovenian innovation, green transition and economic ties with the Western Balkans.

The Expo organization awarded a space‑management contract worth 1.567 billion dinars (about €13 million) to Novaston doo and Novaston Project Management‑HPM for the commercialisation of roughly 20,000 m² of hospitality and retail areas.

Construction of Serbia’s national pavilion, the "Srpska kuća", has begun near the National Stadium in Surčin. The pavilion will showcase Serbian cultural heritage and modern technology on a site of about 20,000 m², with completion targeted for March 2027.

Organisers expect over four million visitors and participation from more than 120 countries, underscoring the expo’s role in promoting tourism, trade and cultural exchange in the region.
