EXPO 2027 promoted in Athens to strengthen Serbia-Greece ties

The promotion of EXPO 2027 Belgrade has commenced in Athens, aimed at enhancing economic and tourism cooperation between Serbia and Greece. Igor Kovačević, Executive Director of the International Participants Sector for EXPO 2027, highlighted that bilateral trade between the two nations exceeded two billion euros in 2025.

The specialized international exhibition will take place in Belgrade from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme ‘Play(ing) for Humanity – Sport and Music for All’. The event is expected to host over 140 international participants and attract more than four million visitors over its 93-day duration.

To facilitate business, the program includes six thematic forums, a two-day Global Summit on Business and Technology, and over 250 bilateral events, with a goal of enabling more than 50,000 business meetings. The exhibition is projected to contribute nine billion euros in gross added value to the Serbian economy and support nearly 360,000 full-time equivalent jobs. Potential areas for Greek-Serbian cooperation include maritime transport, logistics, tourism, agriculture, food industry, energy, and construction.
