Expo 2027 selects 58 projects for cultural program
The Serbian Ministry of Culture has selected 58 projects to form the cultural and artistic program for the Expo 2027 specialized exhibition. The selected initiatives include contributions from artistic organizations, cultural institutions, and independent artists across various disciplines such as visual arts, drama, music, and dance.
Key highlights of the program include exploring cultural ties between Serbia and South Korea through collaborations organized by the Novi Sad Cultural Center and the OPENS Youth Association. The lineup features renowned thriller author Harlan Coben, Viennese pianist Anika Vavic, and dancers from Jersey. Additionally, the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, alongside the ‘Josif Marinković’ mixed choir, is scheduled to perform Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
International participation is extensive, with the Belgrade Children’s Cultural Center planning to host 2,000 participants from countries including Mexico, Turkey, China, and Russia. The Niš Student Cultural Center will host over 200 artists from nations such as Greece, Romania, and Portugal. German curator Max Dax will also present a project titled ‘Work Hard – Play Hard’ to showcase the Serbian contemporary art scene on the international stage. The program also emphasizes inclusivity, featuring projects like the Merlinka Festival and inclusive musical-theatrical programs from the Šabac Theatre.
