Expocampo showcases rural student projects in Campo Grande

The second day of Expocampo, an exhibition organized by municipal agricultural schools in Campo Grande, featured student project showcases from ten rural educational units. Under the theme ‘Rural Education: knowledge that cultivates lives, territories, and futures’, the event focused on the experiences and flavors of rural life.

Mayor Adriane Lopes stated that the initiative aims to strengthen rural schools to encourage students to remain in rural areas and participate in food production, reversing previous trends of urban migration. She noted that such projects support the local green belt and economic development, citing a community bakery in Buriti as an example of local economic strengthening.

Educational efforts begin at a young age, with some programs involving children as young as four months old. These programs emphasize hands-on learning through planting and experimentation to encourage students to apply agricultural knowledge within their homes.
