Expocine 2026 announces award recipients for Brazilian audiovisual industry
The 13th edition of Expocine, scheduled for September 29 to October 2 in São Paulo, has announced the recipients of the traditional Troféu Expocine. The event will recognize various entities that shape the Brazilian audiovisual sector across production, distribution, exhibition, and technology.
A new Student category will debut this year to honor the educational foundations of the industry. The first recipient in this category is FAAP (Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado) in recognition of its 50th anniversary in film education.
In the Production category, RT Features will be honored for its 20-year history of co-producing major national and international titles, including ‘Call Me by Your Name’ and ‘Ainda Estou Aqui’. The Distribution category will honor Sato Company for its 41 years of service, specifically noting its role in bringing Asian cinema to Brazil.
In the Exhibition category, Grupo Estação will receive the award for its 40 years of operation as a traditional circuit for independent and art cinema in Rio de Janeiro.
