Extradition orders issued in Colombia and Spain for criminal suspects

In Colombia, President Abelardo de la Espriella has ordered the extradition of several individuals to the United States, including those known by aliases Mocho Olmedo, Muñeca, Araña, Pinocho, and HH. While the Supreme Court of Justice had previously issued favorable opinions regarding their extradition during the previous administration, the process had been suspended due to their inclusion in various 'total peace' processes. Three of the individuals are currently in custody, while two remain fugitives.

In a separate legal development, Spain's National Court has authorized the extradition of Wilmer Chavarría, known as alias Pipo, to Ecuador. Chavarría is required to serve the remainder of a 16-year sentence for three homicides committed following a 2010 bank robbery. Although Spain rejected a separate extradition request from the United States regarding drug trafficking, Chavarría's defense has filed an appeal, leaving the transfer in suspense. If extradited, his presence may impact investigations into the assassination of Fernando Villavicencio and the internal structure of the criminal organization Los Lobos.
