Extremadura launches new support for self-employed and teleworking
The regional government of Extremadura has approved new economic support measures aimed at promoting self-employment and workplace flexibility.
A 47.5 million euro plan for self-employed individuals includes a new program called ‘Zero-Price Family Collaboration Partner’. This initiative provides 1,920 euros per year for up to two years to cover the social security costs of unemployed family members joining a business. Additionally, subsidies for business succession have been increased, ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 euros, with potential increases to 6,000 euros for businesses located in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.
Separately, the region is allocating 1.8 million euros to support teleworking and flexible scheduling. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the self-employed can receive 2,500 euros for each employee transitioning to remote work (provided at least 30% of the week is remote) or for implementing flexible scheduling measures. Companies can receive up to 22,000 euros in total, with additional bonuses available for businesses that maintain gender parity in their workforce.
