Extremadura regional government to equip 18 schools with new classrooms and cafeterias
The Junta de Extremadura has launched a public procurement contract worth €118,770.51 to furnish new classrooms and school cafeterias in 18 existing educational centres. The contract, divided into three lots covering general furniture, teaching materials, and kitchen equipment, requires delivery within 25 business days after signing. The equipment includes 215 individual desks, matching chairs, reading tables, infant‑cycle furniture, storage units and kitchen appliances, aiming to have the spaces ready for the 2026‑27 academic year.
The procurement covers schools such as Alcuéscar, Burguillos del Cerro, Castuera, Guadajira, Higuera de Llerena, Jarandilla de la Vera, La Garrovilla, Marchagaz, Medellín, Pinofranqueado, Portaje, Talayuela, Torrejoncillo, Valdecaballeros and Valverde de Mérida, as well as special education and early‑childhood centres in Mérida. The initiative is intended to support the upcoming school term rather than replace existing material.
