F1 drivers and teams regroup after Silverstone chaos ahead of Belgian GP
Italian rookie driver Antonelli, who suffered a brake‑failure crash at the Silverstone Grand Prix, told the media that the problem lay with the car, not his performance, and that his championship hopes remain intact. Mercedes pledged a full investigation into the brake issue ahead of the next race in Belgium.
Alpine team manager Flavio Briatore highlighted that Franco Colapinto’s ninth‑place finish at Silverstone secured valuable points for the French squad, but warned that the current performance is insufficient to stay ahead of rival Racing Bulls in the constructors’ standings. With both teams aiming to improve their packages, the focus now turns to the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix at Spa‑Francorchamps, scheduled for 17–19 July.
