FAA awards $615 million for airport infrastructure projects

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded nearly $615 million to fund 238 airport projects across 42 states and two U.S. territories. Distributed through the Airport Improvement Program, the grants are intended to enhance safety and efficiency by supporting infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, terminals, and towers.

Major individual awards include $21.5 million for runway rehabilitation at Midland International Air & Space Port in Texas and $19.5 million for a replacement airport in Noatak, Alaska. Other notable recipients include Gary/Chicago International Airport for tower reconstruction, Lynchburg Regional Airport for a terminal project, and several municipal airports in Arizona, Nevada, California, and Ohio for various airfield improvements.
