Fabiano da Luz launches pre‑candidacy for Santa Catarina state legislature amid broader Brazil candidate rallies

State deputy Fabiano da Luz announced his pre‑candidacy for the Santa Catarina Legislative Assembly on July 3 in Pinhalzinho, drawing more than 700 supporters, including PT leaders and the pre‑candidate of the Campo Democrático, Gelson Merisio (PSB). The event highlighted da Luz’s role in the state’s left‑wing opposition and positioned him as a central figure for the 2026 elections.

On July 4, São Bernardo councillor Julinho Fuzari (Republicanos) launched his pre‑candidacy for the São Paulo Legislative Assembly before an audience of roughly 3,000 people, with attendance and video messages from the state governor, the mayor, and other local politicians. Fuzari emphasized his record on public‑service oversight and advocacy for people with autism.

Also on July 4, PT veteran De Assis Diniz opened his pre‑candidacy for the Ceará Legislative Assembly at a gathering of about 2,000 participants from nearly 140 municipalities. Celebrating his 62nd birthday, Diniz received support from national PT figures and local elected officials, reaffirming his long‑standing ties to labor and social movements.
