Fabio Quartararo to join Honda for 2027 MotoGP season

MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo has detailed his decision to join Honda for the 2027 season, citing a desire for a more competitive package and a fresh start. After eight years with Yamaha, including six with the factory team, Quartararo expressed frustration with the manufacturer's recent competitive struggles, particularly as the transition to a new V4 engine in 2026 has not closed the gap to competitors.

Quartararo also defended fellow Yamaha riders Jack Miller and Alex Rins, who are both set to move to WorldSBK in 2027. Despite their low standings in the current season, Quartararo emphasized that they are not rookies and have proven race winners, noting that their difficulties are a reflection of the Yamaha bike's current limitations rather than their individual abilities.
