Facebook group 'Con ghét bố mẹ' surges to nearly 200,000 members
A Facebook group titled “Con ghét bố mẹ” (I Hate My Parents) has seen a massive surge in membership, growing from a few thousand to nearly 200,000 members in a short period. The group serves as a platform for young people to share personal struggles, including academic pressure, parental control, and domestic conflicts.
While some view the group as a space for teenage rebellion or a source of negative influence, experts and psychologists suggest it may function as a psychological coping mechanism. Many members use anonymous posting to voice feelings of being misunderstood or unheard at home. Some posts reveal deeper traumas, such as past physical abuse or neglect, rather than mere adolescent frustration.
The rapid growth has also drawn a large number of parents to the group. This influx has sparked debate over whether the community facilitates two-way dialogue or exacerbates generational tensions. Experts warn against the “social proof” effect, where repeated negative comments can reinforce a child's sense of grievance, and advise parents to listen without judgment rather than reacting with immediate criticism or lecturing.
