Faculty of Philosophy in Niš faces unpaid wages and loss of health insurance

Staff at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš are facing severe institutional and financial pressure. According to researcher-associate Milan Videnović, the Ministry of Education has ceased paying health insurance for employees. This follows previous restrictions on student funding and unpaid salaries, with July wages remaining unpaid despite legal deadlines. Videnović warned that this situation could lead to a humanitarian crisis, potentially leaving employees and their dependents without healthcare services.

In addition to financial issues, faculty members report institutional pressure from the Ministry of Science regarding the reaccreditation of their scientific research activities. Staff claim the Ministry is demanding a completely new, revised application despite a pending process that has lasted nearly two years. They argue these demands ignore recent Administrative Court rulings that suspended certain organizational changes, and they view the Ministry's actions as a continuation of ongoing pressure on the institution.
