Facundo Moyano denies gender violence charges in Belgrano incident
Facundo Moyano, former national deputy and union leader, has broken his silence regarding a judicial investigation following an incident with his partner, Candela Arizaga, in the Belgrano neighborhood. Moyano is currently charged with minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty in a context of gender violence.
Moyano claims that Arizaga suffered a cardiac arrest and a psychotic break during the early hours of August 4, necessitating that he perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He maintains that he is innocent and asserts that he possesses video footage from inside their apartment that will support his version of events. He also denied consuming drugs, stating that he refused toxicological tests upon the advice of his lawyers.
The investigation follows footage of Arizaga running through the streets in a state of distress. While Arizaga previously provided statements regarding drug consumption, Moyano has contested the interpretation of security camera footage, claiming the individual seen pursuing her was a police officer rather than himself. Some reports have also suggested a potential economic settlement between the parties, though this remains unconfirmed.
