Facundo Moyano released but remains indicted in gender‑violence case with Candela Arizaga
Facundo Moyano, son of union leader Hugo Moyano and former national deputy, was detained after a night in August 2024 when his partner, 23‑year‑old influencer Candela Arizaga, was found semi‑nude and disoriented in the Belgrano neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. He was charged with light injuries and illegal deprivation of liberty in a gender‑violence context. After giving a statement to the Unidad de Flagrancia Norte, Moyano was released on bail but remains indicted. The court imposed a 300‑metre no‑approach restriction and a total prohibition of contact with Arizaga.
Arizaga was taken to Hospital Pirovano, where a toxicology test later confirmed cocaine consumption. She has repeatedly denied that Moyano assaulted or confined her, describing the episode as a loss of control linked to drug use and stating she felt fear. Her lawyer, Diego Storto, said she is in shock and has difficulty recalling details. Police seized two phones, a USB drive, an Apple Watch and a syringe, but found no drugs in the apartment.
The investigation continues, with statements from former partners Nicole Neumann and Eva Bargiela distancing themselves from Moyano, while Moyano has publicly said “everything is clarified.”
