Fada N’Gourma launches national vector control campaign
The third edition of the National Vector Control Days (JNLAV) has officially launched in Fada N’Gourma, Burkina Faso. This initiative is part of a multisectoral presidential program aimed at reducing the proliferation of mosquitoes, which serve as primary vectors for diseases such as malaria, dengue, and yellow fever.
Local authorities, including the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, participated in field operations alongside community members. Activities included cleaning gutters, weeding unsanitary areas, and destroying larval habitats in various sectors of the city, including areas near the Bayama station and the local market.
Health officials emphasized the importance of continuous community involvement. Residents are encouraged to maintain clean premises, eliminate standing water, and consistently use insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect their households.
