Faenza hosts Argillà Italia and Mondial Tornianti ceramics festival

The ninth edition of Argillà Italia is taking place in Faenza, bringing together ceramicists and technical operators from more than 30 countries. Organized by MIC Faenza and the Municipality of Faenza, the event features over 250 exhibitors and more than 90 scheduled activities, including exhibitions, workshops, and conferences.

A central highlight is the 37th Mondial Tornianti, organized by the Mondial Tornianti Gino Geminiani Association. This competition features master potters from around the world competing in both aesthetic and technical categories. The event includes a unique blindfolded performance titled ‘Io, il tornio e lo scuro’, where participants must recreate the shape of a vase they can only touch.

Educational activities are concentrated in Piazza Nenni, offering workshops in wheel throwing, decoration, and modeling. The festival also includes various art exhibitions, such as Giorgia Severi’s ‘Losing cultural landscapes’ at MIC and several displays at the Galleria Comunale della Molinella.
