Falcón state water infrastructure undergoes emergency repairs and reactivation

Authorities in Falcón state, Venezuela, are conducting emergency repairs and infrastructure upgrades to restore water services across multiple municipalities.

At the El Isiro reservoir in Miranda municipality, technical teams are addressing damage caused by high winds that broke the anchors of the floating intake structure. This displacement fractured a 16-inch suction pipe, reducing extraction capacity. Mitigation efforts have included thermofusion welding to restore hydraulic continuity, with plans for specialized divers to realign the structure and install new anchors to stabilize the system.

Additionally, the Ministry of People's Power for Water Attention has reactivated the El Cristo water treatment plant. This intervention involved installing a new submersible pumping unit with a flow capacity of 95 liters per second and upgrading electrical components to protect against voltage fluctuations. The reactivation provides direct water service to over 3,000 families across 22 communities in the San Francisco and Jacura municipalities.
