Falher, Alberta Begins Major Main Street Sewer and Water Replacement Project

The Town of Falher has started a major infrastructure project on Main Street, beginning on August 7 and scheduled to run through September 25, 2026. Engineers identified serious deterioration in a key sanitary sewer trunk main beneath the street, prompting a full replacement of sections of both the sewer and water systems through deep excavation.

The work will cause significant traffic disruptions, including lane closures, detours and temporary access restrictions for residents and businesses. Specific water shut‑offs are planned for August 11 (all users from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), August 13 and August 17 (east of Main Street, same hours). The town advises the public to stay informed via its website for updates and impact notices.

The project is a top priority for Falher in 2026, aimed at protecting health, safety and the long‑term reliability of the town’s infrastructure.
