Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas has announced a planned shutdown of the Bearspaw feeder main for less than one week in September. The closure is intended to facilitate electrical work on a new pumping station as part of the north Calgary water servicing project.

The Bearspaw feeder main provides 60 per cent of the treated water for 1.6 million residents in Calgary, surrounding municipalities, and the Tsuut’ina Nation.
