Falubaz Zielona Góra seeks to resolve 4 million PLN budget deficit

Stelmet Falubaz Zielona Góra, a prominent Polish speedway club, is facing a 4 million PLN budget deficit. While the club has struggled with poor performance in the Ekstraliga, its financial stability is currently at risk.

City councilors have approved a 2 million PLN subsidy for the club, a decision that now awaits final approval from the president. However, the club still requires an additional 2 million PLN by the end of October to meet licensing requirements for the upcoming season. Managing director Rafał Prokopiuk attributed the deficit to imprecise financial planning and unrecorded agreements made during previous negotiations with the city.

To stabilize the club, management is pursuing several recovery strategies, including searching for a new title sponsor and renegotiating player contracts. Prokopiuk indicated that the club intends to move away from high-cost star players in favor of more affordable options to ensure long-term financial health.
