Families displaced by residential fires in Argentina and Colombia

Separate residential fires in Argentina and Colombia have left families without homes and essential belongings.

In Rawson, Argentina, a fire in the Salvador María del Carril neighborhood destroyed much of a family's home and possessions. Preliminary reports suggest the fire may have been caused by a gas cylinder issue. While no injuries were reported among the 16 people affected, including five children, the family is seeking community donations such as clothing, mattresses, and food to rebuild.

In Santa Marta, Colombia, a fire in the 20 de Octubre neighborhood destroyed the home of a couple and their five children. The District Administration, led by Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello, has provided immediate relief including hygiene kits, bedding, and non-perishable food. The local government has also committed to supporting the schooling of three of the children and assisting with the physical recovery of the residence.
