Families seek aid following residential fires in Paraguay and Peru

Two separate residential fires in Paraguay and Peru have left multiple families without homes or belongings, prompting urgent pleas for public assistance.

In Asunción, Paraguay, a fire in the Roberto L. Petitt neighborhood destroyed a home shared by several families. The blaze reportedly began during welding work, causing a short circuit. One resident was hospitalized with hand burns after attempting to save possessions. While people and animals were rescued, the family lost nearly all their belongings and is seeking donations to rebuild.

In Peru, a fire in the Asociación 11 de Junio near the Portón Negro sector destroyed the living quarters of two families. The incident, which occurred on a Sunday evening, destroyed clothing, furniture, kitchen utensils, and school supplies for children. One affected mother, who works irregular jobs, reported being left without resources to replace essential items, while a teenager involved in the incident is receiving psychological support.
