Sema and Incra accelerate environmental regularization in Mato Grosso settlements

The State Secretariat of Environment (Sema-MT) and the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra) held a series of meetings in the municipalities of Juara, Brasnorte, and Tangará da Serra to expedite environmental regularization within rural settlements.

In Juara, local producers met to clarify doubts regarding the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and the improvements made to the Mato Grosso Rural Environmental Registry System (Simcar). In Brasnorte, officials met with political leaders and residents of the Tibagi settlement to discuss a pilot project involving agribusiness support for small producers seeking environmental compliance.

In Tangará da Serra, discussions focused on creating an action plan for the Antônio Conselheiro settlement, one of the largest in Mato Grosso. This settlement covers approximately 38,000 hectares, including an estimated 11,000 hectares of legal reserve area.
