FAO and Yemen Ministry inspect greenhouse installations in Lahj

A joint team from Yemen's Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted a field visit to Lahj Governorate to inspect the installation of agricultural greenhouses.

These activities are part of the ‘Response to Enhance Food Security and Resilience’ project, which is being implemented across the governorates of Lahj, Abyan, Taiz, and Al Dhale'e. Funded by the World Bank Group, the initiative aims to increase agricultural production efficiency and improve farmers' livelihoods by introducing modern techniques.

The use of greenhouses is intended to provide a controlled environment for production, optimize water usage, and protect crops from pests and adverse climatic conditions. Officials emphasized the importance of completing the work according to technical specifications and timelines to support food security and climate change adaptation.
