FARDC forces reclaim localities in South Kivu highlands
The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) have announced military advances in the South Kivu region, specifically within the highlands of Fizi and Uvira. Government forces, supported by Wazalendo fighters, report reclaiming several localities following intense clashes with the AFC/M23 coalition and other armed groups.
In the Fizi territory, the FARDC claims to have regained control of the villages of Natulonge and Nagushushu in the Lulenge sector. Military operations are currently focused on securing strategic axes, including the Nyamiringa–Mukoko stretch, with continued movement toward Kakenge. Military command indicates that pressure is intensifying toward the strategic area of Minembwe-centre.
