Farmers protest fertilizer shortages in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh
Farmers in India are staging protests due to acute shortages of DAP fertilizer and technical issues with the e-token distribution system.
In the Baran district of Rajasthan, farmers blocked the Chhabra-Salpura State Highway-51 after failing to receive fertilizer tokens. Protesters, some carrying sticks, gathered near the SDM office. Following a confrontation and discussions with local administration, authorities began arranging for token distribution under police supervision.
In the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh, farmers in Amanganj blocked the Amanganj-Kishangarh road to protest server issues and difficulties with the e-token booking system, which they claim have persisted for 22 days. Protesters submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar and issued a two-day ultimatum to the Collector to resolve the shortage and prevent black marketing. They have requested that the e-token booking window be extended from one hour to at least 12 hours.
