Fat Dog releases new album ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’

The band Fat Dog has released their follow-up album, ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’, following their debut ‘Woof.’ The new work explores themes of exhaustion, burnout, addiction, and self-doubt, reflecting the mental toll of the modern music industry and the pressures of constant self-promotion.

Musically, the album is described as a chaotic blend of post-punk, techno, psychedelic rock, electro, and country. While maintaining the aggressive and high-energy sound characteristic of the group, the record incorporates more atmospheric and melodic elements compared to their previous work. Tracks such as ‘Heart Of Darkness’ and ‘Snakes’ provide moments of intimacy amidst the more intense, club-oriented beats.

The recording process was notably intense for frontman Joe Love, who experienced significant sleep deprivation and hallucinations during the sessions with co-producer Oli Bayston. The band's lineup has also seen shifts, with only Joe Love, Chris Hughes, and saxophonist Morgan Wallace remaining from the group's 2022 inception.
