Fatal accidents reported in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote
Two separate fatal incidents have been reported in the Canary Islands.
In Fuerteventura, a 38-year-old man died after being rescued from the sea at Garcey beach in the Pájara municipality. Emergency services, including the Guardia Civil, local police, and the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC), responded to an alert regarding a person in distress. Despite resuscitation efforts by medical personnel after the man was found in cardiopulmonary arrest, he could not be revived.
In Lanzarote, a man died following a vehicle rollover on the LZ-2 highway in the Tías municipality. The occupant was ejected from the vehicle during the accident, which caused a small fire that was extinguished by Civil Protection. Emergency responders, including the SUC and Lanzarote's Safety and Emergency Consortium, performed CPR, but the individual was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
