Fatal drowning incidents reported in Bolivia and Brazil
A 70-year-old man was found dead in a stream on a farm in the Bajo Virtudes community, Bolivia. The victim, who worked as a farm caretaker, was discovered by property owners during a routine visit to deliver supplies. Local police and the Special Force to Fight Crime (FELCC) were notified, and firefighters were required to retrieve the body from the water. While drowning is the preliminary suspected cause of death, an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact circumstances.
In Brazil, 37-year-old José Luiz Belizario died following a boating accident in a deep pit in the rural area of Fazenda Rio Grande, near Curitiba. The incident occurred when a small vessel overturned during a test. While one occupant was rescued by bystanders, Belizario remained submerged. Specialized diving teams from the Tactical Rescue Operations Group (GOST) conducted searches in the murky, deep water before eventually recovering his body. Despite emergency efforts, he did not survive.
