Fatal drowning incidents reported in Portugal and Brazil

Two separate fatal drowning incidents have been reported in Portugal and Brazil.

In Santa Comba Dão, Portugal, a 70-year-old man from Viseu died after slipping on rocks while fishing in the Dão River near Vimieiro. His companion alerted emergency services, and divers from the Viseu Volunteer Firefighters recovered the body. The deceased was transported to the Viseu Hospital medical-legal office for autopsy.

In Praia Grande, Brazil, a 16-year-old boy was found dead in the sea after disappearing during a trip with a friend at Aviação Beach. Search operations involving maritime fire departments located the body near Fire Station Post 1. Authorities noted that the São Paulo coastline has recorded 85 drowning deaths since the beginning of the year.
