Fatal multi-vehicle collision in Cavour, Italy

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Thursday morning, October 15, 2026, on the SP 151 in Cavour, Italy, at the intersection of via Villafranca and via Pellosa. The collision involved two cars, a Mini Countryman and a Peugeot 208, and a Ford Transit van.

Emergency responders reported that a 34-year-old woman and her one-year-old son were traveling in one of the vehicles; both were transported to Agnelli Hospital in Pinerolo without serious injuries. A 61-year-old woman, Lauretta Siano of Airasca, was traveling in the other vehicle. She was airlifted to the CTO hospital in Turin, where she passed away shortly after admission.

Preliminary investigations suggest the older driver's car was rear-ended by the van before being struck by a vehicle traveling from the opposite direction. The driver of the van remained uninjured but was reported to be in shock. Carabinieri from the Pinerolo company are conducting investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and have managed traffic in the area.
