Mexican authorities launch multiple raids against drug, fuel and weapons trafficking
In the last week Mexican law‑enforcement agencies carried out a series of operations targeting organized crime.
In Veracruz, investigators from the State Attorney General’s Office seized two suspects accused of extortion and kidnapping, and later arrested three individuals transporting illegal firearms, ammunition and marijuana near the Coatzacoalcos‑Villahermosa highway.
In Puebla, the state public security council detained 121 people and confiscated more than 1.3 kg of cocaine.
Federal forces in Reynosa seized 3.77 million litres of illicit fuel (huachicol) along with trucks, storage tanks and related equipment, valued at roughly 128 million pesos.
In a separate case, three men were linked to an illegal hydrocarbons transport after a truck was stopped in the Aeropuerto neighborhood, leading authorities to seize over 28 000 L of gasoline.
Additional raids in Jalisco and other states resulted in the seizure of explosives, ammunition, assault rifles, military‑grade weapons and large quantities of firearms parts. Seven members of a criminal cell linked to multiple homicides were also arrested in Cuauhtémoc, with weapons and drug evidence secured.
