Fatal truck collision on Ruma‑Irig highway in Serbia kills one, injures another

Around 07:00 local time, two trucks collided on the road between Ruma and Irig in Serbia. The impact caused one truck to catch fire, leaving a charred wreck. The driver of one truck was found dead at the scene, while the driver of the other was trapped in the mangled cab, rescued by firefighters, and taken to hospital in critical condition.

Emergency services halted traffic on the stretch, diverted vehicles onto alternate routes, and began a police investigation into the cause of the crash. The incident resulted in a full road closure while authorities conducted a preliminary inquiry.
