Fazenda Remonta sale faces legal injunction in Valinhos

The Fundação Habitacional do Exército (FHE) is proceeding with the sale of Fazenda Remonta, a large property in Valinhos, São Paulo, following a public auction held on July 31, 2026. Alphaville Desenvolvimento Imobiliário submitted a winning proposal for the land, which covers approximately 160 to 180 hectares.

The sale has faced legal challenges. A federal injunction issued by Judge José Luiz Paludetto of the 2nd Federal Court of Campinas has prohibited the definitive transfer of the property until its environmental relevance is fully assessed. This follows a public civil action filed by the Associação Protetora da Diversidade das Espécies (Proesp), which argues the site is a vital refuge for fauna and a source of water resources.

In response, the FHE stated that the entire process complies with current legislation. The FHE noted that the Tribunal Regional Federal da 3ª Região (TRF3) previously recognized the legality of the property's acquisition and sale in 2020. The proposed development is intended to be a low-density rural allotment of approximately 50 lots, designed to adhere to environmental conservation standards and municipal land-use laws.
