Jessica Bowie arrested in alleged ISIS plot to bomb New York State Capitol FAST-MOVING

Jessica Bowie, a 35-year-old woman from Albany, has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on the New York State Capitol. Bowie is charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

According to criminal complaints, Bowie allegedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and sought guidance on manufacturing explosives. Her plan reportedly involved using a food delivery bag to disguise a bomb to gain access to the Capitol building. She intended to detonate the device while state senators were in session to maximize casualties and disrupt the government.

Investigators state that Bowie conducted surveillance of the Capitol at least five times, photographing the area and analyzing security measures. She also allegedly purchased bomb-making materials, including nails to be used as shrapnel, from a local hardware store. Bowie reportedly communicated with an FBI informant posing as an ISIS facilitator for over a month, during which she allegedly discussed her desire to destroy the building and kill lawmakers.

Authorities also noted that Bowie allegedly planned to flee to Syria following the attack and potentially return to target Times Square. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
