FC Barcelona pursues multiple attacking signings as summer transfer window heats up

Barcelona, now coached by Hansi Flick, is reshaping its squad after Robert Lewandowski’s departure. The club’s primary target is Julian Alvarez from Atlético Madrid, but negotiations are stalled and the Spanish side is demanding a €500 million release clause. As a contingency, Barcelona have identified several alternatives: Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kropi, who would command close to €100 million; Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic, who is willing to lower his wage demands; and midfielder Dani Olmo, who said “I feel comfortable there” and is ready to play as a centre‑forward if needed.

In addition to these options, Barcelona have submitted an official bid to Borussia Dortmund for German winger Karim Adeyemi, who has expressed a sole desire to join the Catalans and is set to become a free agent in June 2027. The club is also monitoring Belgian left‑winger Jesse Bisiwu as a low‑cost prospect. For defensive reinforcement, Flick has asked sporting director Deco to finalise the signing of Portuguese full‑back Joao Cancelo from Al‑Hilal, a deal reportedly worth around €10 million and expected to be completed before pre‑season.

Separately, Barcelona are evaluating the possibility of re‑signing former youth product Jan Virgili after Mallorca’s relegation to the Segunda División; the club could trigger a €7 million buy‑back clause. Flick has set an internal deadline of 27 July for all arrivals to be completed ahead of the England training camp.
