FC Bayern Munich preseason camp kicks off amid injuries and transfer news

FC Bayern Munich opened its 2026‑27 preseason with a 1‑2 defeat to SV Wehen Wiesbaden at the BRITA‑Arena on 25 July. After the loss the squad moved to a four‑day training camp at the Tegernsee region (Rottach‑Egern), where German national‑team players Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlovic and newcomer Nathaniel Brown underwent medical and fitness tests at the Barmherzige Brüder hospital.

The camp also featured the arrival of recent signings Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown. Saibari, who suffered a thigh injury in the World Cup round‑of‑16, was diagnosed with a muscle‑fiber tear and is expected to resume training after the Asian tour. Brown transferred from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee up to €55 million.

Club CEO Jan‑Christian Dreesen addressed contract rumours, confirming that Michael Olise and Luis Diaz have no immediate transfer offers and that Harry Kane’s future will be discussed when he returns. A failed transfer of Feyenoord defender Givairo Read was explained by former Feyenoord official Dennis te Kloese, citing injuries as the reason the €25 million deal collapsed.

The squad will travel to South Korea (Jeju FC on 4 August) and Hong Kong (Aston Villa on 7 August) as part of the Asian tour. Thousands of fans attended the training‑camp kickoff, and youth prospect Bastian Assomo (16) impressed by receiving man‑to‑man defensive drills from coach Vincent Kompany.
