Bayern Munich preseason training

Overview

After a 1‑2 loss to SV Wehen Wiesbaden on 25 July, Bayern Munich moved to a four‑day preseason camp in the Tegernsee area (Rottach‑Egern) on 27 July. Coach Vincent Kompany opened the programme while the squad continued medical and performance examinations at the Barmherzige Brüder hospital.

German internationals Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlović and newcomer Nathaniel Brown underwent fitness tests, as did recent signing Ismael Saibari. Saibari, who suffered a thigh injury in the World Cup, was diagnosed with a muscle‑fiber tear and is expected to resume training after the Asian tour. Brown’s transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt was confirmed for a fee of up to €55 million.

Club CEO Jan‑Christian Dreesen addressed contract rumours, stating that Michael Olise and Luis Diaz have no immediate offers and that Harry Kane’s future will be discussed upon his return. A proposed €25 million move for Feyenoord defender Givairo Read fell through because of injuries. Youth prospect Bastian Assomo (16) impressed coaches during the camp kickoff, which was attended by thousands of fans.

Bayern’s Asian leg includes a friendly against Jeju FC in South Korea on 4 August and a match versus Aston Villa in Hong Kong on 7 August.
