EFCC arraigns two for alleged FCMB access credential deal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Gideon Bakpa Aghogho and Oscar Ebere Chukwuebuka before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. The defendants face an eight-count charge involving the unlawful supply of access credentials to the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) database.

Prosecutors allege that between July 24 and 26, 2026, the defendants conspired to supply Aghogho’s access code to the FCMB system using a local administrative credential, which could grant access to the bank’s Virtual Center Platform. Additionally, Aghogho is accused of disclosing the bank’s server IP and domain credentials in exchange for $15,000 between April and May 2025.

A third suspect, identified as Scott, remains at large. During the proceedings, Chukwuebuka pleaded guilty to the charges, while Aghogho pleaded not guilty. Justice F. N. Ogazi has ordered that both defendants be remanded in a correctional facility and adjourned the case until August 27, 2026, for a review of the facts.
