FCSB owner Gigi Becali critiques Korenica and praises Muhar
Following FCSB's 1-0 loss to Universitatea Cluj, club owner Gigi Becali expressed mixed sentiments regarding his squad. Becali criticized Meriton Korenica, a midfielder signed from CFR Cluj for 700,000 euros, stating that the player frequently loses possession and passes to opponents. Becali indicated a need for replacements in both the midfield and attacking positions.
In contrast, Becali and former coach Nicolae Dică offered praise for Karlo Muhar. Dică noted that Muhar has become an essential presence in the locker room and a key player for the team, especially after taking on the captaincy. Becali identified Muhar and Radunovic as two of the most important players currently in the FCSB squad.
Separately, Becali revealed that the late coach Mircea Lucescu had previously expressed interest in joining FCSB. Becali claimed he declined to pursue negotiations because he anticipated Lucescu would demand conditions that were not acceptable to him.
