FEDA launches drone technology training for Dominican rice farmers
The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) has launched a training initiative on the use of drones in agriculture as part of the Dominican Republic’s Program for the Modernization of the Countryside. The initiative aims to introduce new technological tools to producers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
During the 5th Jima Abajo Rice Fair in La Vega, FEDA Executive Director Hecmilio Galván announced that, in partnership with the company FARMDRONS, the institution will extend this training to all major rice-growing regions in the country. Following the session in La Vega, the next training session is scheduled to take place in San Juan de la Maguana.
The training, led by FARMDRONS President and pilot Erick Cortes and Edwin Martinez, focuses on the practical applications of drone technology to improve production processes and strengthen the rural economy.
