Federal Police arrest Cuiabá entrepreneur in air drug and arms trafficking operation
The Brazilian Federal Police launched Operação Bóreas on Tuesday to dismantle a criminal organization suspected of managing international air logistics for drugs and firearms. The operation targets a group allegedly involved in transporting large shipments of cocaine and weapons from Bolivia and Peru into Brazil using aircraft and clandestine airstrips.
Thatiana Rabelo Mesquita Theodoro, a business owner and administrator of TRMT Restaurante Ltda., which operates the Tatu Bola Bar in Cuiabá, was among three individuals arrested under preventive detention warrants. While the investigation focuses on the logistics of the criminal group, there is currently no information indicating that the bar itself was used for criminal activities.
The judicial orders, issued by the 4th Federal Court of Palmas, include search and seizure warrants, the seizure of aircraft, and the freezing of assets and values belonging to the suspects. Additionally, the Federal Police have requested the inclusion of ten suspects in Interpol’s Red Notice system.
