Federica Brignone vows to compete in 2026‑27 World Cup season

Italian alpine ski champion Federica Brignone announced she will race in the 2026‑27 World Cup season. After recovering from a severe knee injury and a lengthy rehabilitation that followed a crash at the 2025 Italian championships, she resumed training on the Cervinia glacier with her brother and coach Davide Brignone. Despite lingering pain and acknowledging that her body may never fully recover, she ruled out participation in the 2030 Olympics and aims to make a final push this winter.

In a separate interview, Brignone confirmed a new relationship with former basketball player‑turned‑model James Mbaye, while stressing her desire to keep private matters out of the public eye. She spoke about future motherhood versus marriage, noting she does not plan to have children while still competing.
