Feira de Santana faces health‑unit internet outage and worsening street sanitation problems

Health officials in Feira de Santana said a change of the internet‑service contractor left 45 basic health units and two polyclinics without connectivity, halting online appointment scheduling. The municipality announced a contingency plan using manual records and set a July 20 deadline for full service restoration.

At the same time, residents across the city reported a surge in accumulated trash, potholes and open‑sewer sections on streets such as Rua Empresarial, Rua Cabuçu, Rua Eunápolis and Rua Gentio do Ouro. The debris and flooding create health hazards, impede traffic and raise concerns about disease‑carrying pests. City officials have been urged to address the maintenance backlog and improve sanitation.

Both issues reflect growing municipal service challenges in the Bahia city, prompting calls for faster infrastructure repairs and reliable public‑service contracts.
