Feira de Santana secures R$134.7 million Zona Azul parking concession

The municipality of Feira de Santana formalized a decree regulating its paid rotating‑parking system, known as Zona Azul. The system will operate Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 and Saturdays 08:00‑13:00, with no service on Sundays or holidays. Tariffs are set at R$2.50 per car and R$1.00 per motorcycle, with a two‑hour maximum stay.

On 4 August, the concession was auctioned on Brazil’s B3 exchange. The winning consortium, ZAD Feira de Santana (Zona Azul Digital) Corretora RJI, offered a 36.19 % variable outlay for a 20‑year contract, valuing the project at R$134.7 million. Mayor José Ronaldo hailed the deal as a historic step for urban mobility, while traffic superintendent Ricardo Cunha said the concession will increase parking turnover in the city centre and improve traffic flow.
