Feira de Santana infrastructure projects 2026
Overview
In early July 2026 the municipality began work on the Olhos d'Água Linear Park, launching a broader effort to upgrade city amenities. By late July the Secretariat of Infrastructure continued upgrades at the João Martins da Silva Exhibition Park, carrying out mechanized cleaning, paving and leveling of a new arena to support the 47th Expofeira livestock fair (6‑13 September 2026). The improvements are intended to expand capacity for animal shows, technological displays, vehicle sales, a gourmet village and family entertainment, and are seen as an opportunity for breeders to improve herd genetics and boost the regional agro‑industry.
On 2 August the ZAD Feira de Santana consortium was awarded a 20‑year concession for the city’s rotating‑parking (Zona Azul) system, valued at roughly R$ 134.7 million with a 36.19 % variable fee. The agreement covers operation, maintenance, modernization and the rollout of smart traffic lights and a traffic‑education mini‑city.
A decree issued on 4 August set the system’s operating hours (Mon‑Fri 08:00‑17:00, Sat 08:00‑13:00) and tariffs (R$2.50 per car, R$1.00 per motorcycle, two‑hour maximum stay). Officials said the concession will increase parking turnover, improve traffic flow and further advance urban mobility and economic development.
