Feira de Santana undertakes health center overhaul and new street paving

The municipal government of Feira de Santana approved a R$ 2.43 million contract with an engineering firm to renovate the Centro de Saúde Especializado Dr. Leone Coelho Lêda, which has suffered severe infrastructure failures such as cracked walls, rusted equipment and broken furniture. The health centre provides programs for asthma, leprosy, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and other services. Mayor José Ronaldo de Carvalho will issue the service order after a technical assessment, following complaints from patients and staff about conditions that forced some to wait outdoors.

At the same time, the city's Secretariat of Infrastructure began asphalt paving on five streets in the Conceição neighbourhood—Sumaré, Morretes, Maraújo, Paumerim and connecting links between Santo Inácio de Loiola and Calamar. The works were authorized by Mayor José Ronaldo, who pledged daily construction across the municipality. Local officials and residents attended the launch, with community members praising the project as a long‑awaited improvement.

Both projects are funded from municipal resources and aim to upgrade public services and urban mobility in Feira de Santana.
